House Progress (Jul/Aug 2007)
Imported Canadian Dyar wood arrives at the new home. This old man put this very heavy wood inside. We paid him extra for his efforts
Might have paid the donkey some extra too for his hard work. A fresh hay stack maybe
Got to learn a lot about good wood. As you can see there are no 'Gaanths' on this wood. Its those circular patterns on wood. This assures that the wood is strong. Also the wood should not be too soft or too hard. This wood is also chemically treated against termites and wet weather
Wood placed inside the house
Wood from another angle
Bathroom floor has been tiled
Our 6 jet jaccuzi bath
The small wicket gate has been erected too
Sheets of solid wood arriving. These will be used to make doors
Saba at the main door

It was raining too
The structure for the big sliding windows is in place on which the glasswork and grills will be erected

The activity/drawing/dinig room where the sample grill is placed. This is also where the wood work is being done

Umer inspecting stuff in the lounge
The lobby area and the stairs to upper story. Sample door is placed
This is how doors will look like. This is a very raw form. It also matches our main gate
Work is almost done. I am happy!
